Workshop: Active learning in Environmental Politics

An interactive workshop in collaboration with the Higher Education Academy on 15 November 2013.

The Political Studies Association’s Environmental Politics specialist group (convened by GESA member Dr Elizabeth Bomberg) will be holding a one day workshop on 'Active Learning in Environmental Politics" at the University.

The workshop is co-funded by the Specialist Group and the Higher Education Academy.

The workshop will cover the following:

  • Themes and challenges of teaching environmental politics.
  • Resources for teaching, including social media sources.
  • Active learning using simulations and internships.

The afternoon session will be led by Claire Saunders who has successfully used negotiation simulation games in her own environmental politics teaching.

The workshop is interactive and participants will be asked to send information, ideas and insights from their own experience beforehand. The aim is to share ideas and spread good practice in the area of active learning in environmental politics.
