Invitation to join Clinton Global Initiative University 2014

The Clinton Global Initiative University is a growing network of young leaders who are developing innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.

The next Clinton Global Initiative University will take place on 21-23 March 2014 at Arizona State University. The University joined the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) earlier this year and GESA students are invited to make proposals for the conference in March. GESA member Jake Broadhurst is closely involved and Dr Elizabeth Bomberg, Senior Lecturer at the School of Social and Political Science, will serve as one of the staff mentors.

To be considered for admission, all applicants are required to make a 'Commitment to Action' - a concrete plan that addresses a pressing challenge in one of CGI University's five focus areas:

  • education
  • environment and climate change
  • peace and human rights
  • poverty alleviation
  • public health

Individuals and groups can apply to attend and there will be a proposal-crafting workshop on 18 November to assist students with their applications.

Some funding is available and the deadline for travel assistance is 22 November 2013.
