Preparation

Please give some thought to a stakeholder engagement event or outreach activity that would be relevant to your work/research before coming along, if you can. Have a think about the following questions in particular:

  • What impacts/outcomes do you want?
  • Who are your stakeholders?
  • What’s 'in it' for them?
  • What is stakeholder engagement?
  • Why engage stakeholders?
  • How can we identify stakeholders?
  • How can we engage with stakeholders?
  • What are the challenges and pitfalls?
  • How can we gather stakeholder feedback?

Oliver Escobar on dialogue

Oliver Escoba, a Beltane Network Fellow, has developed a well written, thorough and well referenced resource on dialogue with stakeholders, which is a great resource for your next outreach/communication/consultation event.
