Biological Sciences Student Support Team

This team support Biological Sciences students while they are studying with us.

The BTO (Biology Teaching Organisation) Student Support Team provide pastoral support to all undergraduate and taught postgraduate students in the School of Biological Sciences. In the team are three Student Advisers, four Student Support Tutors and one Senior Academic Tutor. The Student Support tutors also teach in laboratory practicals, tutorials and workshops in 1st and 2nd year undergraduate courses.

Some examples of support they provide includes: 

• Administrative support such as course changes
• General academic support and advice on study skills
• Pastoral support where needed
• Help applying for special circumstances and coursework extensions
• Guidance on, and signposting, to professional support services in UoE e.g. 
  • Disability and Learning Support Service
  • Student Counselling Service
• Specialist help and guidance as required
