Tailored Treatments Workshop

Creative workshop about personalised cancer treatment: 7 Nov 2020

Graphic novels are a fantastic way to tell stories. In this workshop, run by narrative experts Ziggy's Wish, you will have the opportunity to create your own graphic short story about your experience of personalised cancer treatment and research into this area. You don’t need any artistic experience to take part!

Cancer and Society in the 21st Century is a Wellcome Trust funded research project looking at how developments in cancer research and care are changing what it’s like to be a cancer patient, especially as tailored treatments are identified and trialled. The research is a collaboration between the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds.

The researchers are working with Ziggy's Wish to create a graphic novel about their research, some of which will be shared and used as inspiration so you can create your own graphic short story.

This workshop will be an opportunity to meet researchers from Cancer and Society in the 21st Century, to work with creative experts Ziggy's Wish and to meet other people who have experiences of personalised treatments in cancer care and research.

The on-line workshop runs from 10am – 4pm but this includes plenty of breaks and time to work on your own graphic short story. Facilitators will support you throughout the day. No prior experience or special materials required.
