Sexual Health Futures in Scotland

With increasing pressure placed on UK healthcare services, staff and provision, approaches to rethinking the role of community members in healthcare are essential for improving health outcomes. This study seeks to explore community responses to current sexual health experiences and services. Using creative workshops, including zine and illustration design, the study seeks to understand if/how community members can be incorporated in the re-visioning and re-making of sexual health practice and policy and how arts-based and community-driven methods might be used to ‘innovate’ sexual healthcare.

The workshop series will take place in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, and Aberdeen between June 2023 and February 2025.

Workshops will be convened by the researcher and a creative practitioner. A maximum of 12 participants will be invited to attend each workshop.

Participants will be invited to attend two consecutive workshops, and they may decline to continue engagement in the workshops at any point.
