Headings
Subheadings can be used to create visual interest and summarise blocks of text. These must be nested correctly.
Heading levels
The first available heading level is H2, as H1 is used for the page title.
Avoid too many heading levels
Levels are available to H6, though we don't recommend using too many levels - it may be better to split your content into more pages.
Proper nesting
You must nest your headings properly, or your page will break for screenreaders. Never use a different heading style for aesthetic reasons.
Our 'Subheadings' video from the Effective Digital Content course explains how you should use subheadings in web content.
