If you are a member of staff, find out what services are available to you for blogging.

You want a blog to use with your students for teaching, learning or assessment

You want a blog for you research project

You want a blog for your unit, department or other University community

You want your own blog to promote your own ideas, reflections and research

  • If you do not need your blog to be crossinstitutional, and do not need a specific functionality, blogs.ed.ac.uk is your best option.
  • If you need your blog to be crossinstitutional and/or have a specific functionality, customised blogs is your best option as long as you have full funding. If you have limited funding, turn to DIY blogs.
  • If you want your blog to be crossinstitutional and/or have a specific functionality but have no funding, there are no options available at this time. Blogs.ed.ac.uk is probably your best option but it is not editable by other institutions and has basic functionalities.
