Conventional agriculture is degrading our soils, challenging the viability of farm businesses as well as driving water pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change. Independent farm advisors and agronomists are farmers' key technical advisors in how to look after soil. But they currently have no independent software solutions to help save them time in giving soil management advice or to help ensure that advice is data driven.
Solution
Soil benchmark have developed the first data-driven software platform designed for independent farm advisors. Having been built with our customers it is intuitive, easy to use, and leverages AI to help agronomists to benefit from the huge dataset we are curating, covering more than 130,000 acres and growing. They can give better advice than they have previously been able to, quicker. And as more agronomists join to access our platform, they share their data, driving a virtuous circle of insight.
Market
Our first market, worth tens of millions of pounds, is independent farm advisors in the UK. Agronomists and advisors across the EU and North America (a $1bn+ market) face the same challenges. Our ambition is to become the AI-enabled operating system for independent agronomists across all developed agricultural regions.
