Information on the partnership between the University of Edinburgh and your home institution.
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is recognised as a world leader in veterinary education, research and practice. The School is consistently ranked as one of the top schools in the UK, delivering internationally excellent teaching and research.
We are delighted to offer eligible students from partner institutions the opportunity to gain an internationally accredited qualification in veterinary medicine in fewer years compared to studying separately at two institutions.
The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVM&S) is equivalent to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and benefits from the same world-wide standing. We are accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council Inc (AVBC), the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC). This allows graduates to practise in their home country as well as in many other areas around the world.
The Dick Vet has been ranked first in the UK for Veterinary Medicine for three consecutive years in the Guardian University Guide. It also placed sixth in the world in the most recent QS World Rankings by Subject, which are compiled annually, showing the worldwide reach of the School. The latest results from the Shanghai Rankings follow on from these successes, placing the School second in the world for Veterinary Science.
By continuing your studies at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies you will be surrounded by exceptional staff and students and you will be investing in an education that will help you build a successful and rewarding career.
