Accreditation
The School is widely accredited by international bodies so our graduates can practice around the world.
As a School with a truly international outlook, we are accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) and the Australasia Veterinary Boards Council Inc (AVBC), allowing our graduates to practice veterinary medicine throughout the UK, North America, Europe, South Africa, Australasia and beyond.
Our last accreditation award was in 2023.

Following the award of the degree of BVM&S, the graduates can join the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine and receive a license to practice veterinary medicine in the United Kingdom.
The R(D)SVS is a member of, and approved by, EAEVE - but since the UK left the European Union in January 2021, UK veterinary degrees are no longer automatically recognised by EU member states.
Each county in the EU/EEA will therefore recognise your UK degree based on their own rules and regulations, and some countries may require you to take further exams before you can work in their country. You should check the local rules and regulations in the country you are planning to work in after your graduation. A list of competent authorities within the EU is listed on the Federation of Veterinarians in Europe (FVE) website:

The RCVS and the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) have a Mutual Qualification Recognition Agreement which allows for the continued recognition of each other’s accredited veterinary degrees. Anyone wishing to practice veterinary medicine in Republic of Ireland are required to register with the VCI.

To practice in North America, in addition to our BVM&S degree, graduates must pass the examination prepared and delivered by the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. The School has an excellent record in preparing our students to pass the NAVLE and this makes up one of the factors considered by the AVMA in its consideration of the accreditation status of a school.
