College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

We are running a series of in-person and virtual events that will give you an insight into student life at Edinburgh.

If you receive an offer from us,  we will contact you with more information about these events, including how to book your place.   

Booking is essential.  Please do not book travel or accommodation until you have received this information.

Subject events

Medicine 

On-campus offer-holder events:

• Monday 7 April 2025
• Tuesday 15 April 2025
• Friday 18 April 2025

The sessions will include a talk from our curriculum team, participation in an Anatomy practical, and a visit to the Anatomy Museum at Old Medical School. You will also have the chance to speak with medical students, and have an on-campus tour as well as talk to the accommodation team. There will be an opportunity to tour the facilities at the University Sport & Exercise at the Pleasance sports complex and gym, should you wish, at the end of the day.

Virtual offer-holder event: 

• Monday 3 March 2025

This session will offer the opportunity to ask our academics and students questions regarding learning and teaching on the programme and student life in Edinburgh. 

Biomedical Sciences and Medical Sciences

On-campus offer-holder events: 

• Friday 4 April 2025 
• Friday 25 April 2025
• Friday 2 May 2025 

These offer-holder days will give you a feel of what it would be like to study and live in Edinburgh. You will get the opportunity to take a tour of our student accommodation, as well as a chance to spend time in a teaching laboratory and have a look around our Anatomy Museum. 

Lunch will be provided at Pollock Halls of Residence. You will get a chance to speak to students and staff,  and ask any questions about studying in the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences.

Afterwards, you can take a tour of the facilities on offer from University Sport & Exercise at the Pleasance sports complex and gym. You do not need an additional booking for this but we can direct you to where this is located.

Virtual offer-holder event: 

• Thursday 24 April 2025 

This session is for all offer holders to our Medical Sciences and Biomedical Science programmes. You'll have the chance to ask any questions you may have regarding learning/teaching; what it's like to live and study in Edinburgh; the best places to eat/socialise, or anything else you may want to ask of our staff and current students.  

Veterinary Sciences

Offer holders for these programmes will be contacted directly.

How to book

If you have received an offer for a place on one of our programmes, you will receive more information about these events via email, including how to book. 

Student Life and Services sessions

You will also have the opportunity to sign up to information sessions held by a range of student services provided by the University, including accommodation, sports clubs and societies, and student support services.  These usually run in February and May.

1. Sessions for all applicants, including offer holders, will run from 17-28 February 2025. Book now at the link below.
2. Additional sessions exclusively for offer holders will run from 19-30 May 2025. Booking for these will open 9 April.
