Workshops & Courses

FASIC runs a host of events to share the knowledge of its world-class staff.

We offer a variety of courses, tutored by our physiotherapists and medical staff.


Pilates for Back Health (**UoE staff only**)

King's Buildings 

Mondays, 12.30pm-1.30pm

Thursdays, 1pm-2pm

Cost: £25 per person (5 sessions)

Open to both beginners and intermediates

If you would like some support and exercises to look after your back health, these classes will give you a chance to learn and progress over the course of the block so you feel confident in being able to challenge and improve your movement and strength.

Pilates for Golfers

Wednesday 7.30pm-9pm

Date: 24/04/2019

Cost: £15 per person

A practical workshop looking at the movement components of the golf swing and how Pilates-based exercises can help improve spinal rotation and hip/shoulder mobility/turn. Led by Jenny Tyler, Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and Body Control Pilates Instructor

Prehabilitation for Runners

Tuesdays, 5pm-6pm




Cost: £40 (4 sessions)

Prehabilitation for Runners is a four week course run by experienced sports physiotherapist Linda Linton, who uses her clinical experience managing running related injuries, and involvement in research on injury prevention and factors associated with running injury to teach the programme.  Throughout, you take part in a progressive programme of neuromuscular facilitation, strength, proprioceptive, flexibility and plyometric exercises, and also learn running specific warm-up, cool-down, recovery strategies and tips for gait retraining.  This course is suitable for those about to start running for the first time, new to running, or if you want to improve your running and help minimize injury risk and maximize performance. 


FASIC offers a varied Education and Teaching programme and creating opportunities to network and develop with our sport and health colleagues in the local, national and international communities.
