Research at the Highlander Lab
Improve genomic prediction models including genotype by environment (GxE) interaction effects
Goals:
- Find the main environmental covariates driving GxE
- Improve accuracy of genomic selection
- Develop an efficient analysis pipeline for large datasets
Background
I have a Bachelor in Agronomy, Masters and PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding. I have been involved with plant breeding research since I was 19 (more than 10 years now!), always interested in the quantitative genetics side of things. I have worked with several crops (maize, common bean, sugarcane and sweet potato) and also have been developing research using simulated datasets.
