Research at the Highlander Lab
My project is working on applying genomic selection into Uruguay’s rice breeding programme focusing on more genetic gain.
Goals:
- Evaluate genomic prediction in Uruguay’s rice germplasm and
- Explore novel methods for genomic prediction to harness genetic diversity from the two rice pools, Indica and Japonica.
Background
I am an Agricultural Engineer from the Universidad de la República (UdeLaR, Uruguay) and a second-year Master's student in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis in Biostatistics at the same University.
