Joint meeting with MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit
Collaborative workshop between Units held at the MRC HGU: September 2018
34 researchers from the MRC Human Genetics and Integrative Epidemiology Units met on 25th September, in person and via web conference. Researchers presented tools and research relevant to both Units. A particular focus of the day was linkage of molecular data to human health data and novel methodologies, including ways of using Mendelian randomisation to interrogate causality. Break out groups discussed areas common to both Units including epigenetics, genome wide association studies, bioinformatics, with a view to researcher exchange, synergies and collaborations between the Units. Unit Directors George Davey-Smith and Wendy Bickmore expressed commitment to further exchange and collaboration between the Units.
