Feedback from current students is essential to help the University improve. As a result of your feedback, we’ve recently simplified our pre-arrival communications to new students to help you have the best possible start to your studies. We’ve also started work on ensuring students get their timetables earlier. And we’ve organised events and celebrations, such as our postgraduate taught student dissertation celebration, to bring our community together.

Complete the Student Life Survey and national surveys
Our Student Life Survey runs throughout the academic year. It’s open to all undergraduate and postgraduate taught students and is run in collaboration with Edinburgh University Students’ Association.
You’ve told us that you prefer completing shorter surveys. That’s why instead of one longer survey, this academic year we’ll be running five very short surveys with a different set of questions each time. When you complete the survey, you can also enter a prize draw.
UK-wide surveys such as the National Student Survey, Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey and Postgraduate Research Experience Survey help us understand how we're doing in comparison with other universities. They're administered by external research companies and provide us with honest and unbiased feedback from you. Please complete these surveys when you’re invited to do so.
Your student representatives
As soon as you join the University, you become a member of Edinburgh University Students’ Association with access to its wide range of services and facilities.
The Students’ Association runs elections twice a year, in October and March, and as a member, you can vote in these elections or run to become a representative yourself. Your network of more than 150 elected student representatives works with the University to address issues which concern students, to improve your experience.

Join our Student Panel
All students are welcome to join our Student Panel. As a member of the Panel, you get to share your ideas on different topics, often in exchange for vouchers or other incentives. All the Panel activities are voluntary – you can choose whether or not you want to participate in any of the tasks.
