About u-Care

u-Care is a multidisciplinary project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

It is a joint project between the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, and the University of Bath.

The u-Care project is investigating the use of deep ultraviolet light for the ultra-precise resection of tissue, for example in brain cancer and, in the future, using their technology to deliver treatments to specific targeted areas within the body. It involves engineers and physical scientists in collaboration with clinicians and biomedical scientists, using cutting edge techniques in laser physics to develop smaller and more robust technolgies.
