Tax Team

The Tax Team is responsible for ensuring that the University complies fully with all relevant tax laws, rules, regulations, statutory reporting and disclosure requirements wherever we operate.

We provide professional business partnering support to the various Colleges, Schools, and departments across the University, including the provision of proactive advice and guidance on tax related matters arising from our core activities and strategic aims. 

The team is responsible for developing and implementing appropriate and effective tax risk management processes and controls to provide assurance that the requirements of the University’s Tax Strategy are being met.  You can find our Tax Strategy below -

Essentially, any taxes or fees imposed by the government at the manufacturing or production level is an indirect tax.

What is Direct Tax?

Direct Taxes, as the name suggests, are taxes that are directly paid to the government by the taxpayer. It is a tax applied on individuals and organisations directly by the government e.g. income tax, corporation tax, wealth tax etc.
