Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)

For graduates interested in teaching, our Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programmes will give you the skills and qualification you need to teach at Primary or Secondary school level. These programmes are full-time and 36 weeks in duration, starting in mid-August each year.

PGDE Primary

The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Primary is for graduates who wish to enter the teaching profession at primary school level. Through graduate level study of education and professional placements, you will begin your development as a primary school teacher.

PGDE Secondary

The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Secondary is for graduates who want to become subject-specialist teachers in the secondary sector. This 36-week programme is the Scottish route to qualified teacher status.
