We are keen to recruit the very best talent from all over the world. To this end, a number of funding opportunities are available each year.
Postgraduate Taught
We are pleased to offer a number of School-specific scholarships in the 2023-24 academic session. These are allocated to particular programmes and subject to change annually.
Moray House Country Scholarship
Moray House School of Education and Sport is pleased to offer five £10,000 scholarships to study a Master’s degree programme commencing in September 2023. These will be based on merit and available to applicants from the eligible countries.
Moray House Access Scholarship
Moray House School of Education and Sport is pleased to offer a scholarship covering tuition fees and living costs for one student. The scholarship is for UK national students from backgrounds or groups which are underrepresented in our School.
MSc Education (Early Childhood Practice and Froebel) Scholarship
We are delighted to announce that Moray House School of Education and Sport with the UK Froebel Trust will be offering a number of scholarships to UK/EU and International students for MSc Education (Early Childhood Practice and Froebel) pathway in the coming academic session.
MSc Education (Early Childhood Practice and Froebel) Scholarship
Saroj Lal Scholarship
Saroj Lal was one of Scotland’s pioneering race relations activists, a trailblazer in fighting for fairness for all, and in particular for disadvantaged and marginalised Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic women.
One scholarship of £1000 will be awarded to a candidate accepted onto the PGDE Primary, PGDE Secondary or MSc Transformative Learning and Teaching programmes from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
Applications for 2023/24 entry are now open.
Tom and Maureen Fairlie Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a PGDE student who intends to contribute to the development of mathematics or science-based subjects in Scottish secondary schools.
University and external funding
As the number and availability of School-specific scholarships is limited, students are encouraged to seek out opportunities from the University and external bodies to fund their studies.
Scotland's Saltire Scholarships
The Scottish Government, in partnership with Scottish Higher Education institutions, is offering a number of Saltire scholarships. These will be awarded to applicants who are permanently and ordinarily resident in Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, and the USA, who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a one year Masters programme in subjects related to: Science, Technology, Creative Industries, Healthcare and medical sciences, Renewable and clean energy.

Scottish Government STEM Bursary
Scottish Government bursaries will be available to career changers wishing to undertake Initial Teacher Education programmes in Scotland that lead to the award of registered teacher status in the hardest to fill STEM subjects. The eligible subjects offered at Moray House are: maths, chemistry, technical education and physics.
University of Edinburgh Graduate Scholarship Scheme
The University offers a 10% discount in postgraduate degree tuition fees for alumni who have graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh. Please note that applicants to the following Moray House programmes are not eligible for this discount: PGDE, MEd Leadership & Learning, MSc Transformative Learning & Teaching.
