A Global Challenge

By 2050, the world population is predicted to reach 9.7 billion, which poses a challenge to feed and protect our natural systems. To ensure future food security, global agricultural production must increase by 70%, while reducing the environmental footprint.

Digital Agriculture (Agritech) is one way to address these needs, by using data technologies to improve food production, veterinary care, and accelerate the path to zero carbon.

An Agritech Solution

The Easter Bush Agritech Hub is a prestigious research nucleus specialising in data science and located at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies' Easter Bush Campus. As Europe's largest concentration of animal science research expertise, the campus provides an ideal setting for the Hub's state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative research environment.

The Hub's mission is to promote global food systems while working towards a net zero carbon Agritech sector and influencing food and environmental policies. Our team of experts utilises data to advance genetics and health innovations in agricultural science and business, including data-driven breeding and aquaculture.
