What is Data-Driven Innovation?
DDI is short for Data-Driven Innovation - but what is that?
The Data-Driven Innovation (DDI) initiative is a group of innovation hubs that join different academic disciplines to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges using data to innovate. This includes matters such as food production, climate change, exploring space, and genetically-tailored healthcare.
Data-Driven Innovation takes place when great ideas are combined with high-speed data analytics and research expertise. While innovation through data is not new, it is increasingly propelling economic growth, social change, and improvements in public services, thanks to the rapid advances in high-powered computing.
Our capacity to capture flows of data and understand what they tell us is providing better and faster capability to recognize trends and behaviour across many sectors. This is leading to improved services for consumers and citizens.
