Job opportunity: Academic Teaching Fellow MSc Internal Medicine

We are looking for a qualified medical trainee who is enthusiastic about medical education and who would like to take a year out of training to develop their teaching experience and research profile in clinical education.

The Opportunity

The University of Edinburgh’s online Masters in Internal Medicine is inviting applications for the post of Academic Teaching Fellow. The successful candidate will have a variety of teaching duties on the programme including (i) delivering teaching across a range of courses in internal medicine subject areas, (ii) providing quality assurance to our assessments, and (iii) creating new educational materials. The role will support students, academic and clinical staff, and involve collaborating with our external partner, the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh. Over the year there will be opportunities to learn more about instructional design, governance, exam boards, programme administration, whilst developing new skills in delivering clinical education in the online environment. In addition to teaching the successful candidate will engage in research around online clinical education.

The programme is part of the University of Edinburgh’s College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and the programme is based at Edinburgh’s Western General hospital.
