NHS Scotland Deanery – Anatomy for Core Surgical Training – 5th Anniversary

Anatomy@Edinburgh is delighted to announce that the Regional Anatomy Programme for Core Surgical Training, delivered in collaboration with the NHS Scotland Deanery, has just entered its 5th year.

Established in 2018, as part of the UK wide Improving Surgical Training strategy, the programme ensures that all Core Surgical Trainees in Scotland are able to access surgical anatomy teaching of the whole body to MRCS standard as a compulsory part of their training. These one-day reviews of the regional anatomy of the head & neck, trunk and limbs are held regularly throughout the year, and enable trainees to review the important surgical anatomy underpinning their daily clinical practice using cadaveric material in an interactive setting.

Further information about the programme can be found in the accompanying article published in the International Journal of Surgery: Improving surgical training: Establishing a surgical anatomy programme in Scotland
