New research published in the Journal of Anatomy brings tissue engineered replacements closer to the clinic

Congratulations to the Paxton Lab on their recent publication in the Journal of Anatomy which focussed on the anatomical design of tissue engineered replacements. ​​​​​​​

This study focussed on the flexor digitorum tendon enthesis in the fingers, a common site of injury, and by using human dissection and morphometric analyses, bespoke artificial tendon-to-bone replacements were created in the laboratory. This approach brings tissue engineered replacements closer to the clinic by increasing their clinical and surgical relevance.
