Annual Review 2013/14

On the same page as students

The first University-wide student communications campaign designed to enhance the student experience has been launched.

‘On the Same Page as You’ aims to develop dialogue between the University and its students and to highlight the University’s efforts to ensure students have the best possible experience at Edinburgh.

Raising awareness

Promotional lamp-post wraps have been installed at six locations around the University to raise awareness.

The year-long initiative aims to highlight that the University cares about its students, is listening and responding to student feedback, and is working to ensure they have the best possible experience at Edinburgh.

Encouraging dialogue

The campaign will provide opportunities for encouraging staff-student dialogue through a variety of activity across traditional and digital channels.

Social media will play a central role, and among the highlights will be the staging of a series of Google+ Hangout events (live-streamed video calls).

Student representatives will have the opportunity to raise issues and discuss topics that matter most to them with senior staff members.

The ‘Same Page’ campaign was inspired by the desire to start a conversation between the University and students, as well as inviting feedback. We wanted to provide a platform for honest, straightforward collaboration between the University and its students, and between students themselves.

Dr Sue Rigby Vice Principal Teaching & Learning

The first Google+ Hangout event will be facilitated by Dr Sue Rigby on Wednesday 23 October.

Details of how to view the live discussions or watch uploaded recordings of them will be posted on the Same Page website in early October.
