Why Go Abroad?

International experiences can enrich your learning. They provide a great opportunity to try new things, take on new challenges, and gain a new perspective on your learning and career goals.

How do I qualify for this funding?

The fund is available for students who wish to go abroad for an experience that has an educational component to it, as well as a cultural one. For example it could be a:

  • Work experience placement
  • Conference or symposium
  • Cultural exchange for your society to collaborate and learn from your international peers

Successful applicants will be chosen based on the strength of individual Go Abroad activities. The Principals’ Go Abroad Fund is not to be used for any credit-bearing or mandatory components of your degree programme. Further information on eligibility is detailed on the Go Abroad webpages.

How much funding is available?

If your application is successful you will receive a bursary of either £350 or £700, depending on your financial circumstances.

How do I apply?

Applications are now open and the closing date for the first call for applications is 5pm on May 1, 2014. Find out more about this great opportunity, your eligibility, and how to apply on the Go Abroad webpages.
