Student Advisers

We are members of the student support team, here for you to contact for guidance, advice and support during your time throughout the programme.

SAs at R(D)SVS

We are your first point of contact throughout your time at university. You will be assigned a student adviser each year. Select your Year Group below to find who we are and how to contact us.

We will also contact you via email regularly throughout the academic year. Please make sure you check your emails regularly and reply to anything that requires a response in a timely manner.

Our office is the Vet School's Student Support Hub, (room G.04 in Vet School Building - on the ground floor on the left as you enter the building from the car park) and is open for you to drop by at any time between 9am and 5pm, you can also email us to arrange a meeting in-person or online.

What your Student Adviser can help you with:

  • Applying for Special Circumstances
  • Absence or taking a break from studying
  • Information on University of Edinburgh support services
  • Study Skills guidance
  • Talking through difficulties or helping you get the correct UoE support
  • Questions about progression
  • Transfer requests within the University of Edinburgh
  • Withdrawing from the University
  • University procedures and regulations
  • Letters (e.g. matriculation confirmations, support for tenancy etc.)

We are here to help you figure out what actions to take and the best support available to you depending on your situation.

Conversations between us will be treated with confidentiality at all times and the more transparent you can be with us, the easier it will be for us to find the best support for you.
