Introduction to Postgraduate Study
NEXT EVENT: 26 July 2023. This interactive 1.5 hour session provides a general introduction to for anyone starting to think about postgraduate study and considering the University of Edinburgh.
I really liked the delivery of the information by the speaker. I loved the interview approach with a current postgrad student. I felt like the session was genuine, well paced and highly informative. I felt like those talking were speaking to me directly.
Who is this session for?
If you're in the early stages of thinking about Edinburgh as a possible choice for postgraduate study, this live 1.5 hour online session is a fantastic way to find out more - whether you're interested in a postgraduate taught or research programme, delivered on-campus or online.
What does it include?
The session will be led by a member of our Postgraduate Student Recruitment team and, subject to availability, a current postgraduate student, who will share their first-hand experiences of Edinburgh life. We will provide an introductory overview of what postgraduate study is all about and how it works at Edinburgh (and indeed in Scotland and the UK more generally). We'll introduce the fantastic city where we're based and where you'll stay if you're undertaking on-campus study. We'll also tell you about the University itself (including the support and services on offer - whether you're coming to the city or planning to study online).
Come along to find out more - we can't wait to meet you online!
A note on programme-specific content
This session does not include programme-specific content. If you are looking to speak with academic staff or programme teams, please sign up to our Postgraduate Virtual Open Days or Postgraduate Online Learning Open Days or contact staff directly via details provided on the Degree Finder.
Asking questions during this session
This session is very popular and typically attracts more than one hundred attendees. Consequently, we are only able to answer a small cross-section of questions during the session. We will aim to cover a wide range of these areas during the session and/or signpost you to where you can find the answers.
