Background
After my pharmacy studies at the Philipps University of Marburg in Germany, I worked in the R&D Biopharmacy department of the pharmaceutical company Sanofi. I obtained the approbation as a licenced pharmacist and was employed in a public pharmacy. In the following time, I worked remotely in the computational group of Dr Gedi Luksys (Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh) using Python on analysing data of his projects. I was also employed in the laboratory of Prof Moritz Bünemann (Biochemical Pharmacological Center, Philipps University of Marburg) investigating the binding mechanisms of G protein coupled receptors through FRET microscopy technique. Subsequently, I moved to Edinburgh to start my PhD studying the mechanisms why photoreceptors die in retinitis pigmentosa under the supervision of Dr Roly Megaw & Prof Pleasantine Mill & Dr Catalina Vallejos.
Qualifications
State examination in pharmacy, Philipps University of Marburg, Germany
