Research summary

My research interests orbit around two main topics: (1) ideophones and other interactives (interjections, conative calls, etc.) and (2) linguistic fieldwork and description. Within linguistic description, I am particularly interested in phonology and morphophonology. I am familiar with the grammar of Nilotic, Finnic, Romance and I am more recently acquainting myself with Bantu languages.

Project activity

Currently working on a British Academy-funded project on the phonology of Sengwer, an endangered Southern Nilotic language of Kenya.
