Background
Purva joined the University of Edinburgh in October 2023 as a Senior Research Fellow to work on the Fresh Air For Life project. Purva is a health psychologist by training and has many years of research experience in applied health and health services research. Purva is seconded in this role for 2 years from University of Stirling, where she is a Lecturer in Health Psychology.
Purva's current research at UoE focusses on the development of strategies for implementation of evdience-based prevention packages targetting tobacco and air pollution exposure among adolescents in five selected countries across the world. However, she also has broader research interests in three areas: health promotion/health behaviour change, healthcare decision making/patient professional communication, and implementation science. Purva is an inter-disciplinary and mixed methods researcher.
