Tax-Free Childcare delayed

The government has announced that the launch of Tax-Free Childcare will be delayed until early 2017.

The delay was caused by a legal challenge, raised by a number of childcare voucher providers, which has now been dismissed by the courts.

Options

Staff will continue to have the option to join the University childcare voucher scheme with Edenred until early 2017. After this date, you will only have the option of joining the new Tax-Free Childcare scheme - all existing childcare voucher schemes will be closed to new members.

It is important that you register with the University’s childcare voucher provider if you wish to continue receiving the benefit of childcare vouchers beyond early 2017.

Registration details

• The University's Scheme ID is UNIV3815.
• You will need to enter your employee/payroll number (available on your payslip or staff card) and some personal details.
• It is recommended that you provide an email address, as you will receive a confirmation email with further guidance on your online account and how to pay your childcare provider.
