Critical world challenges

Future Economy Conversations is part of the Edinburgh Futures Conversations series, a programme of events aimed at promoting global cooperation in solving the critical challenges facing the world, especially post Covid-19.

The Conversations series, organised by the Edinburgh Futures Institute, brings together global influencers, academic experts and policymakers, alumni and students to debate possible solutions and define the actions necessary to achieve them.

The event will feature a number of Edinburgh academics including Professor Lesley McAra, Director of the Edinburgh Futures Institute, Professor Liz Grant, Assistant Principal Global Health, Professor Gbenga Ibikunle, Professor and Chair of Finance and Director for Industry, Economy and Society at the University of Edinburgh's Edinburgh Futures Institute, and Professor Peter Mathieson, Principal and Vice-Chancellor.

Future Economy Conversations follows on from the first event which focused on the Future of Health and attracted a global audience and array of high-profile international speakers, such as Dr Anthony Fauci, Dr Nanshan Zhong, Professor Sheila Tlou, and Chelsea Clinton.

The Edinburgh Futures Conversations are designed to promote action-orientated thinking, global understanding and cooperation. We are delighted to welcome some of the world’s leading financial and economic leaders to our online Future Economy Conversations event. In the wake of the global pandemic, international cooperation has never been more important.
