Ceilidh for cancer research

University scientists are throwing a ceilidh with a twist to raise funds for ground breaking cancer research.

The Cancer Research UK Ceilidh Experiment will see scientists attempt to explain their work through traditional Scottish dancing.

Strip the Helix

From the Dashing White Antioxidant to the Orcadian Strip the Helix, each of the dances has been choreographed to give an insight into research conducted in Edinburgh.

Thanks to research, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. (This) will be an unforgettable evening packed full of your favourite dances with a twist of science too.

Science choreography

Research associate Lewis Hou, a top violinist and passionate Highland dancer, has been working with staff and students from across the University to help articulate their research through dance.

Medicines of the future

There will be games, art and poems - all on a science theme - and a chance for partygoers to find out how fairgrounds are linked to medicines of the future. There will also be an opportunity to try some hands on experiments. There will also be an opportunity to try some hands on experiments.
