The Sue Innes Memorial Lecture (and reception) is a free public talk, which will be held the previous evening at 5.30pm on 12 October. Professor Viviene Cree will speak on the topic 'History and Policy: Comparing Narratives of Sexual Exploitation'. She will show how historical research is vital to our understanding of contemporary policy debates, comparing the rhetoric surrounding the trafficking of young women in the 1880s (the ‘Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon’) with that of the early twenty-first century.
