The History Debates

Forget X-Factor. These are tough times for higher education, and historians find themselves having to work harder than ever to justify the costs of what they do. In this gloves-off debate, students from two History courses will defend their chosen area of study, arguing the case for the hard-pressed taxpayer to fund research into it. On one side: the history of ideas. On the other side: the history of animals. Let battle commence! (No animals will be harmed…)

What should historians research? Ideas and Animals go head-to-head!

Date/Time: Thursday 1st December at 6.30pm Location: Meadows Lecture Theatre
