Scholarships
The Edinburgh Surgery Online programmes offer a broad range of scholarships, which range in their value and eligibility criteria.
Commonwealth Scholarships
There are ten Commonwealth Scholarships available which include full tuition fees with contribution towards cost of internet access, printing and project costs. To be eligible candidates should be a citizen or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth Country, be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth Country and have an offer to study on one of the eligible masters: MSc Surgical Sciences, ChM General Surgery, ChM Trauma & Orthopaedics, ChM Urology, ChM Vascular & Endovascular Surgery.
Value: 100% fees

Edinburgh Surgery Online Global Scholarships
There are a number of scholarships available which includes full tuition fees with contribution towards cost of internet access. Applicants must be a national and resident in eligible country, please click HERE for full list.
Value: 100% fees, subject to satisfactory progress
How to apply:
- Submit an online application for the MSc in Surgical Sciences, ChM in General Surgery, ChM Urology, ChM Trauma & Orthopaedics or ChM in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery,
- Be issued at least a conditional offer to start the masters in September 2024
- Submit the online application for Scholarship

ASiT - Edinburgh Surgery Online Bursary
We have a number of ASiT-Edinburgh Online Surgery bursaries, each worth £1500 annually, to support ASiT members undertaking the MSc in Surgical Sciences, ChMs in General surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology and Endovascular & Vascular Surgery and the MSc in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors,
Value: £1500 annually
How to apply: You must have made an application for the masters and have been issued at least a conditional offer to be considered.

Edinburgh Surgery Online Patient Safety Scholarships - MSc in Patient Safety & Clinical Human Factors
There are a number of scholarships available which includes full tuition fees with contribution towards cost of internet access. Applicants must be resident in Africa, South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands or Central and South America.
There are also a number of bursaries, each worth £1500 annually, available to all applicants for the MSc in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors.
Value: Full Tuition fees/£1500 annually

Edinburgh Surgery Online Ophthalmology Scholarships
There are a number of Scholarships available to support students undertaking the MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology, each worth £1500 annually.
Value: £1500 annually

The David and Molly Pyott Foundation Scholarships in Ophthalmology
There are a number of scholarships available in the field of Ophthalmology for students from Africa, Central and South Asia, Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Central and Latin America who have been accepted for admission to the two-year, part-time online ChM (Master of Surgery) in Clinical Ophthalmology in academic session 2024-2025.

The Garden Scholarship
This scholarship will be open to application by a first or second year student enrolled on either the MSc in Surgical Sciences or ChM in General Surgery. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in a country defined as least developed nations by the United Nations Committee for Development Policy.
Value: £1500 annually, which will be deducted from annual tuition fee
