Public Art & Anatomy Exhibition

Artists and creative individuals are invited to submit one piece of artwork relating to the subject of anatomy for our Art & Anatomy Exhibition at the Anatomical Museum, University of Edinburgh, 26th - 31st August 2019.

Entry Details

Your artwork can be created using a medium of your choice and the content and theme of your work should be suitable for family audiences. Please remember that your artwork must also be respectful of the human remains on display within the Museum as artworks will be displayed alongside the objects and specimens. There will be a selection process and Anatomy@Edinburgh staff reserve the right not to include artworks that are deemed to be inappropriate or disrespectful. Artwork Criteria & Eligibility

Artwork should be two-dimensional or three-dimensional and we request work is self-supporting or has its own stand, base or support supplied by the artist. Works will be displayed in the Museum, organisers reserve the right not to display oversized artworks or works without appropriate mounting or framing. Please ensure your work has had enough time for the media to dry completely before delivery.

How & When to Submit Your Entry

Please complete and email your submission form by Tuesday 30^thJuly with a maximum of two JPEG images of your clearly labelled work with your full name (no more than 2MB) to the following address;  Anatomy.Edinburgh@ed.ac.uk. Artwork will be selected by a panel from Anatomy@Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh Anatomical Museum. You will be emailed regarding the panel’s decision week beginning Monday 5^thAugust 2019.

Delivering Your Artwork

Artwork can be hand delivered on Friday 16^thAugust 2019 to the Anatomical Museum, Teviot Place, Doorway 3, Edinburgh, EH8 9AG. Artwork can also be posted to the Anatomical Museum, however this is at the artists own risk and expense, by Friday 16th August 2019. Staff will ensure work is received into the Museum and safely stored in preparation for the exhibition. 

Preview Evening & Exhibition

Artists will be invited to a Preview Event before the opening of the exhibition. The exhibition will run Monday 26^th– Friday 30^thAugust 12 – 3pm and Saturday 31^stAugust 10am – 4pm.

Collecting Your Artwork After the Exhibition

Work will be available for collection by the artist or a nominated person the week beginning Monday 2^nd September 2019. Artwork may be posted back by arrangement at the artists own risk and expense.
