Turnitin
Turnitin checks similarity and helps improve paraphrasing and citation skills.
Some of your assessments will be submitted to Turnitin from the course Learn page.
Turnitin compares the submission to UK-wide websites, academic reference materials and previously submitted work to produce a score and report of how similar your work is to others’.
Understanding your similarity report
You must submit your assessments carefully
It is very important that you submit your assessments carefully. The filename should contain your matriculation number and it should be a file of one of the following types:
- Word document
- PDF file
- RTF file (can save as RTF format from many word processing packages)
It is important to check that you receive a digital receipt to confirm you have submitted successfully. Usually ‘Turnitin’ only allows for one submission. If you think you have not successfully submitted, then please contact the course secretary.
Please note, trouble with computer equipment or online submission is NOT a valid reason for late submission. You are expected to leave yourself time to deal with any complications before the submission deadline.
Getting your Feedback
Turnitin also features a feedback studio for viewing feedback comments. Please be aware that the grades and Feedback you find in Learn are for guidance and information only, as grades are not ratified until the exam board for the course.
