Room bookings, events and catering

To make a meeting room booking please email the Bayes Centre reception bayes.reception@ed.ac.uk  with dates, times and number of guests.

Visitors

Please alert The Bayes Centre reception bayes.reception@ed.ac.uk of any incoming visitors, especially those with additional accessibility needs. For those visiting full day we can offer visitors access card and access to the Wi-Fi  network.

Bookable Hot Desks

Branding of all building areas

To arrange branding please contact simon.christie@ed.ac.uk

Building Faults

Please report any building faults to bayes.reception@ed.ac.uk where it will be reported to the appropriate University support service.

Kitchens, toilets and breakout spaces

Kitchens, toilets and breakout areas are on all floors and are shared between all building users. Please be aware that University cleaners or the Bayes Centre Team will not take any responsibility for any food/drink left behind in those areas and you should ensure they are kept clean and tidy at all times. Please be aware that around kitchen areas, particularly at lunch times are not appropriate locations for meetings.

Waste and Recycling

Shared mix recycling and general waste bins are available throughout the building with additional glass recycling offered in the kitchens. Orange lidded bins are for clean recycling. All dirty or non-recyclable items should be put in the black lidded bins.

Smoking/Electronic Cigarettes

Smoking and vaping is not permitted in as well as around the Bayes Centre

Nursing Mothers Room

If you would like access to a private room and a fridge, please ask at reception and we would be happy to provide this for you.

Children

Children are only permitted to enter University buildings for short visits and must be closely supervised at all times. Children are not allowed into buildings outside normal working hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)

Mail

Any mail/parcels will be delivered to the pigeonhole with the company name/office number on it. Large items will be left at reception for collection but please ensure you notify reception ahead of any delivery. If reception staff are unsure, they will not sign for items.

Cycling facilities

Cycle store and showers are available in the basement- should you need your access card activated for the cycle store please email: Transport and Parking transport@ed.ac.uk
