All students of every nationality are required to prove their English language competence.

Even native-speakers of English must demonstrate that they meet our minimum language requirements to gain entry to the University.

English language qualifications we accept

We accept all of the English language qualifications listed below for entry to the University.

Your English language qualification must be no more than two years old at the beginning of your degree programme.

PTE Pearson Test of English (Academic)
CAE Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
CPE Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English
Trinity ISE Trinity Integrated Skills in English

*IELTS qualifications may be taken at any IELTS centre.

We also accept a degree, or equivalent, that has been taught and assessed in English in a majority English speaking country for entry (as defined by UK Visas & Immigration).

Majority English speaking countries

We also accept a degree, or equivalent, that has been taught and assessed in English from a university on our list of approved universities in non-majority English speaking countries.

Degrees taught and assessed in English must be no more than two and a half years old at the beginning of your degree programme.

Tier 4 visa applicants

Applicants who require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK and are interested in the following programmes need to ensure that they have an IELTS test from a UKVI approved test centre:
