Study options

A range of study options and programmes are available for international students at the University of Edinburgh, including undergraduate, postgraduate, short term study abroad programmes and foundation programmes.

Undergraduate study

An undergraduate degree is a first degree for those who do not already hold one. To apply for a full-time undergraduate degree programme with us you must apply through UCAS.

Postgraduate study

A postgraduate degree is a second degree for university graduates, leading to a masters or PhD qualification.

Study abroad programmes

You can select from five flexible options to study abroad at the University of Edinburgh and you can choose to study for one semester or the full academic year.

International foundation and pathway programmes

Foundation and pathway programmes offer international students a route into an Edinburgh degree.

Integrated English for Academic Purposes

Integrated English for Academic Purposes (IEAP) combines specially tailored English tuition with a postgraduate taught masters degree in one programme.
