Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Pakistan.

Students from Pakistan are admitted to the University of Edinburgh with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB) and other recognised regional systems.

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate

Pre-Medical and Pre- Engineering

For all undergraduate degree programmes offered by the College of Science and Engineering, applicants with 75% or more in the HSC/ Intermediate (Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical streams only), will be considered for entry to year 1 of an undergraduate degree. Applicants must meet any specific-subject requirements.

  • Students wishing to study medicine or veterinary medicine will not be considered on the basis of the HSC Intermediate.
  • No other stream of the Intermediate HSC is considered suitable for direct entry to an undergraduate programme.

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelors of Commerce

Applicants with good grades with a Bachelor of Commerce (Pass or Honours) or Bachelor of Arts will be considered for entry to year 1 of degrees within the College of Humanities and Social Science.

Students wishing to study medicine, veterinary medicine will not be considered on the basis of a BA or BComm.
