24 hour study space
Outwith Main Library opening hours there is study space available for Edinburgh University students in the open-access lab on the lower ground of Hugh Robson Building. The Hugh Robson building is located on the north side of George Square and is open 24 hours throughout most of the year. Access is via swipe card.
Please note that further study space is available throughout the University.
Last admission to the Library is 10 minutes before the building closes.
Out of Helpdesk staffed hours access to the Library building is only guaranteed for swipe card holders. Those with day passes, external borrowers cards and reference cards are allowed access at the Library's discretion.
A tannoy announcement will be made 30 minutes and then 15 minutes before the Library building closes. Self-issue, self-return and photocopying facilities will stop at this time.
Users are asked to co-operate with library and security staff in clearing the building promptly at closing times.
