Upcoming switch to Ultra Base Navigation is first step towards Learn Ultra upgrade

The Learn Ultra team are preparing to launch Ultra Base Navigation (UBN) on Tuesday 28 June.

Learn Ultra Base Navigation (UBN) is the first phase of upgrading Blackboard Learn, our institutional Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), to Learn Ultra. It provides the foundation for the full upgrade to Learn Ultra, due to rollout across the University next summer.

With the exception of those who have chosen to be part of the early adopter group, courses themselves will not change this year. However, the look and feel of the Learn platform will.

The introduction of UBN brings a new and simplified layout, designed with mobile devices in mind. A refined navigation menu allows users to not only quickly access courses, but also engage with key information across all courses in one place. The changes improve accessibility and will provide a significantly better digital experience for students and staff.

Ultra Base Navigation will go live by close of play on Tuesday 28 June 2022. Learn will be unavailable between 9am and 5pm on this day to allow us to make the change and complete the configuration needed.

Drop-in sessions which provide an overview of Ultra Base Navigation, followed by a short Q&A are available for all staff. Sign-up through the following link: Learn Ultra Base Navigation Drop In Session.
