IGeLU 2021 – International User group conference 2021 - August 23rd – 26th.

We helped organise, run, moderate, talk and send attendees to the International Conference for users of ExLibris Systems.  Held virtually through Zoom, for the second year, it replaced the physical conference which was planned for Copenhagen, Royal Danish Library.

The IGeLU conference logo. A drawing of the Danish Royal Conservatoire, with the text "IGELU 2021 Digital Conference - 23rd - 26th August"" in muti coloured writing in front of it.

The most attendees we have ever had – 2600 individual registrations. Our conference theme was Equity, Equality, Diversity — Rapid Change in a Diverse World.  We had a great Keynote speech on the theme by Dr Safiya Noble from UCLA. Safiya is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry (C2i2).  Her speech was recorded and will be shared on the conference website.

For the first time we also used a visual notes company. A new way to capture and share conference information. Visual notes will also be shared on the IGeLU website.  You can read more about the company that produced them, Scarlett Design, on their website.
