Call for volunteers to help Ukrainian nationals learn English

Edinburgh graduate Austen Skinner (MA Arts, 1996) volunteers with ENGin, a non-profit connecting Ukraine to the world, and is calling on his fellow alumni to join him on a one-of-a-kind programme that pairs Ukrainian youth with English speakers for free online conversation practice and cross-cultural connection.

About ENGin

Launched in 2020, ENGin is a global non-profit organisation that helps young Ukrainians learn and speak conversational English. The organisation aims to connect Ukraine to the world in order to propel its postwar reconstruction and longer-term economic and social development.

One-of-a-kind English learning initiative

ENGin pairs English learners from Ukraine with volunteers from around the world for weekly online speaking sessions. Every learner and volunteer is screened to ensure their fit for the programme. Participants are then matched based on preferences, interests, and availability to ensure an effective and mutually enjoyable communication experience. After a match is made, ENGin supports learners and volunteers throughout their participation in the programme.
