Charlie Nichol is in her 3rd year in the Edinburgh Medical School studying BSc (Hons) Oral Health Sciences.

"I was drawn to Edinburgh because it’s renowned for being a diverse and historic city, and I was blown away by how beautiful it was when I visited. I wanted to move away from home for university to gain independence and make the most out of my university experience and you can't get much further away from Cardiff than Edinburgh!"

My student experience

“I've really enjoyed socialising with people and making new friends, both on my programme and outside my programme. I also love the new level of independence I've gained in being away from home, as well as the improvement in my time management abilities, particularly when being able to juggle my studies and maintain a healthy social life.”

Around 100,000 students call Edinburgh home, giving the city a unique buzz and ensuring you’ll be in good company. Discover more about student life at Edinburgh.

My programme

“I love the small class size that comes with the programme because it basically allows for one-on-one tuition, which is really unique and useful. This also makes it easier to ask any questions if you have any problems. Not only this, I love the friendships I've formed on the programme so far which is definitely a factor which contributes to my enjoyment.

“Oral Health Studies is definitely a lot more content heavy than I was expecting, primarily due to quantity of lectures as well as clinical skills, so it can be challenging to keep on top of the workload.”
